Construction and Maintenance

Metrolink construction and maintenance crews are constantly working throughout the entire Southern California system expanding capacity, upgrading systems and maintaining existing infrastructure to help provide the highest quality of safety and service to our passengers. This work also helps to ensure a safe and smooth flow of freight rail traffic throughout our region.  Here are examples of the type of work we do to maintain our rail system.

Metrolink Railroad Maintenance - City of Anaheim

February 17 - February 29

To keep train service safe and reliable, Metrolink crews will continue extensive railroad tie replacement work adjacent to Anaheim Canyon Station.

Metrolink Railroad Improvement Work - City of Santa Ana

February 28 - February 29

To keep train service safe and reliable, Metrolink crews will be performing track maintenance on the railroad tracks in Santa Ana near Clemensen and Larchmont Avenue.

Metrolink Railroad Improvement Work - City of Burbank

February 28 - March 6

To keep train service safe and reliable, Metrolink crews will perform system improvements and maintenance work along railroad tracks near Interstate 5 between N. Front and S. Flower Streets.

San Juan Capistrano Passing Siding Project 

OCTA and Metrolink are improving the operational efficiency of the Los Angeles – San Diego – San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) rail corridor. Click here to learn more about this project that will add 1.8 miles of passing siding railroad track between the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo Metrolink Station and Trabuco Creek in San Juan Capistrano.
